WHO WE ARE
Founded in March 2018, K.O. Koala Entertainment™ is a small indie game and entertainment studio from Colorado, USA comprised of 4 psycho guys: Anthony Nicolosi (@bramoala), Skylar Sokol (@drchinchilla517), Josh Brancale (@daydreamjoker), and the social-media-less Sean Stevens (Rahlekk), who would be so witless as to attempt to break into the gaming industry by bootstrapping the development of Agora (their first game) with their full-time jobs, while also attempting to reinvent how indie studios market themselves and their games by building a community around their brand before Agora even comes out!
What We Are Working On
We are working on Agora™, a single player physics FPS coming to Steam (please consider wishlisting it helps SO MUCH) and Xbox.
Set in the Parthenon training simulation, players will experience visceral physics-based challenges while they unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding their enlistment into the advanced technology corporation, Agora.
Our Vision
At K.O. Koala Entertainment, we believe that the journey of making games can be just as compelling (if not more so) than the games themselves.
Because of this, we are documenting our journey alongside our community by producing daily content across a variety of mediums including social media, podcasts, streaming, Discord, and more!
At the center of our community building efforts lies our innovative Discord experience. This experience centers around the Agora Research idle game, that we implemented with two custom bots. Both of these bots also represent entities in the the universe of our upcoming game, Agora.
Agora Development Status
In order to better insure that we meet our desired sales targets, we are iterating on Agora through a series of playtests, conducted alongside a group of players that we consider “super fans” of Agora. We borrow the term “super fans” from Amy Jo Kim's book, “Game Thinking”, in which she categorizes “super fans” as players who are actively seeking a game like Agora.
We have conducted 3 internal playtest with this group of playtesters and are targeting a fourth playtest early 2022. For more info on our methodology and process for executing these playtests, check out our Koalatea Time podcast episode with the amazing UX master, Dr. Celia Hodent!
